Embodied Intelligent Robot as Research Assistant

In China, a robot R&D team was invited by a scientific expedition and exploration organization to bring their wheel-legged robot into the scientific research project. As the first "robot expedition member", the robotic dog followed researchers deep into the primeval forest, taking charge of dangerous section pathfinding, biological observation, image recording and material transportation support. It not only shares the hardships and dangers for human expedition members and reduces the risks of field operations, but also supports biodiversity surveys and rare species monitoring with its low-disturbance observation advantages. It empowers field scientific research with embodied intelligence, completing the first field scientific expedition practice of embodied intelligent robots. The application value of such solutions will keep expanding. Mountain forest patrol, post-disaster inspection, and long-term monitoring of wild animal populations are all scenarios that humans can access but at extremely high costs. The model where robots replace humans to enter the field while personnel review data remotely is gradually becoming a reality.
We also endeavor to input similar solutions, to use embodied intelligent robots into scientific field studies in mobile observation, monitoring, even search and discovery in remote areas that are hardly accessible for human.
We consider biodiversity as the core symbol of vitality that Bio stands in the center of our task elements. We make every effort to protect wildlife ranging from snow-capped mountains to the deep ocean, from vast grasslands to burrows or tree trunk hollows, and cherish the gene pools out from every corner of this vast planet surface.
